Surprise visit for Halloween!

It was a usual hectic day at the Scotts. I was running behind and had not gotten to the store for Halloween candy. After picking up Cory from school we took off to get some errands run and stop at the store. Errands finished I pull in to the house and we haul all the groceries inside. As I am in the middle of putting them all away we hear a knock at the door. Shaelynn runs to get it with Cory and myself not far behind. This strangely dressed woman is standing at the door. She has bottle-cap glasses on and platinum blond hair. She has bright makeup on and a huge chest and behind. Me being a bit slow starts to think "Oh crap....I don't have the candy out yet..." When suddenly something about this woman is very familiar. Oh my heck...it is my MOM! I should not have given it away to my kids as they were still totally stumped. What a fun trick she played on us for Halloween. If I had seen her on the street I would have never guessed it was her.

She spent the rest of the day with us. We went trunk or treating and then walked a few rounds through the neighborhood with the kids. They were soon tired of trick or treating so we went back to the house. We decided we had time to burn so we ran out and rented a "scary" Goosebumps movie to settle on the couch and watch with the kids until bed time. In the morning we had pancakes and then went on a quick shopping spree. After that Grandma had to get home to check on Grandpa.

What an awesome surprise! It was great fun to spend Halloween with my Mom and the kids!

That is awesome. You're mom is just as cool as I remember her. Funny.

How fun is that? Love your mom! Good for you for not pushing your kids to keep going since they didn't want to. Wish we could have done that for Seth.

I'll have to email you a picture so you can post it if you want. She had Trevin totally freaked out, but Aidan recognized her right away. I don't think I've seen Mom dressed up since she was a witch a long long time ago. Too funny. Glad you had a good time with her and I hope I didn't spoil her visit with my message on the phone. :)
