I have never been much of a politically interested/motivated person. I never much cared for what the government was doing and figured I really did not have much say in the matter anyway so why worry about it.
Lately it is like a light bulb had turned on for me. I feel like the direction the country has been and is still headed for is not a pretty place. I feel we have deviated to far from the constitution and the bill of rights. We are like a country out of control.
I love my country. I want it to be the best it can be and for its people to be the best they can be. I guess you could say I am now much more interested and active in my small role as an American and a voter.
The only way that we "little people" can really bring about any kind of change it to be sure our elected officials LISTEN to us, represent us and serve us! The best way to do this is to GET INVOLVED! Find out what is going on and find those that match your interests and vote them in!
I will warn people with a little (political) side note to my title so you know when I get up on my little soap box and rant. If you are not interested...just skip it. :)
Here is a little list I hold dear and hope our country can return to upholding.
The 9 Principles
1. America Is Good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
