Halloween
Here are my little ghouls dressed for Halloween. Shaelynn is a 'Dead Cheerleader' and Cory is my little 'Surgeon'. This might be the last year they both dress up. Cory seems to think he is getting a little to old for it.

Behind....
like always. I am definitely one of those people whose road to heck is paved with good intentions. I really did intend to keep up on my blog but Facebook is just so much easier. Will work on this soon. ;)

Shaes Utah history program.
Shaelynn had her 4th grade Utah history program just before school got out this year. I knew it was coming up and just figured she would need a white t-shirt and her pink cowboy boots like Cory had to wear to his program 2 years earlier (minus the PINK boots).
To my surprise the night before the program (procrastination) I asked her if she knew where her boots were. Shae announced that she wanted to go as a pioneer instead of a cowgirl. I told her we had no pioneer clothes and that it was not possible. In response she decided to BEG me to sew her one. Stupid me gave in. NOT a great idea the day before the program.
We ran to Walmart and found a pattern, picked out a material and went home only to find out that patterns are no longer the same as they were when I learned how to sew in junior high. Doh!
Now days you have to choose the exact size of the pattern instead of cutting out the one you need from a pattern that has adult and kid sizes all in one. At about 7:00 we dashed back to the store in hopes they had her size. We were in luck!
To make a long story short I was up until 2:30 am cutting out and sewing a dress, hat, and apron. I was one tired mom when it came time to wake up the next morning and get the kids ready for school. It was all worth it though when Shaelynn spotted the dress and started jumping up and down with excitement and even better when she put it on and spun around like a pilgrim princess. :)
Her program was awesome. I still can't recite from memory the 29 counties in Utah but Shaelynn sure can.

Cory Birthday
I can not believe I have a 12 year old. My kids are just growing like weeds. :)
For Corys birthday we had a little get together for cake and ice cream. Cory went shopping with us as he just wanted cash to spend for his birthday. He came home with 4 air soft guns (stupid me...not a good idea as they damage skin and HURT), action figures, a new bike to fit him, a few video games to play and some new clothes.
I think he had a good time. That is a real smile on that mug!

For Easter we decided to go on a little trip. Abbie (Brandon's wife) and Family were having a family dinner on Easter Sunday so we decided to make a trip of it. We called and reserved a room in one of the local hotels. The morning before we left I had to have the kids color their eggs.
We went up on Saturday and visited my family. After that we went back to the hotel and let the kids swim. They love to swim!
That morning Lance, Nicole, Kaden and baby Haylee came over for a visit and to allow Kaden to swim as well. I didn't get to hold the new little girl as I wasn't sure if I was coming down with something but got a super cute shot of her in her car seat.
After that we went to the Easter Dinner. It was great food and fun. The kids had an Easter egg hunt and we got to review the Easter story with family.

Shaelynn Birthday
Shaelynn turned 10 this spring. I can't believe it. Time is just flying by!
She wanted a laptop. We decided a lap top was not going to happen (way to much money) so we got her an ipod. She is a music buff so this ended up being a great gift for a surprise. Along with that she got a scrap booking set from the Scott grandparents, a Double Daring book for Girls and a $20 bill from the Paystrup grandparents. We got her a bunch of Littlest Petshop house and 4 pets to go with it, she loves them. We took her shopping for clothes as well and came back with about 10 new shirts, a dress and two pair of shoes. She loves to shop....the total opposite of me. lol. I do have to admit that it is getting a little easier. I had better learn to shop better by the time she is a teenager right?!
She says she had a great Birthday. :)
